Wave Splashes Her Way to Marvel Contest of Champions

Summer has arrived in the Marvel Contest of Champions. Making a splash is none other than the aquatic Wave. She swims her way to the fight on May 28.

Before taking up the mantle of "Wave," Pearl Pangan was a swift swimmer who hailed from Cebu, Philippines. While looking for an opportunity to use her talents in a study of swimmers, a raid on the facility resulted in the discovery of her power. This was hydrokinesis, which is the ability to manipulate water. Using her newfound powers, she now fights alongside Triumph Division and Agents of Atlas under the name of Wave.

Heating Things Up

Before cooling things down, players need to be prepared for things to heat up as Ghost Rider rides his way to the Battlerealm. This reworked version arrives May 14.

Ghost Rider was previously stunt cyclist Johnny Blaze. He was tricked by the demonic being Mephisto and sold his soul to save a loved one. Now he has been bonded to the Spirit of Vengeance, a being of almost unlimited power from Hell itself. He has the power to control Hellfire along with the Hell Cycle and Hell Chains. Ghost Rider now turns against the very purpose Mephisto wanted and instead uses his newfound abilities to protect the innocent and cast judgment upon the wicked.

In Hot Water

As part of the arrival of these two heroes to the game, players are invited to a new event quest with "In Hot Water." It sees Mephisto invading Atlantis as he looks for hidden treasure. However, Ghost Rider is more than ready to put an end to whatever Mephisto is planning. The thing is, Namor prefers someone from his side of the world helping. This is where Wave comes and to help extinguish the flames of evil. This event runs from May 6 to June 3.

Marvel Contest of Champions invites players to step into The Battlerealm and experience epic 1v1 combat. It features various Super Heroes and Villains from across the Marvel Universe. The game was first released on mobile platforms through iOS and Android. Then in June 2025 it was made available for PC and fully optimized for mouse, keyboard, and controller on the big screen.

Players get to take on the role of a Summoner chosen by The Collector. They assemble a powerful team from a roster of more than 300 Champions. Players can engage in fast-paced battles against enemies and players from around the world. They'll have to master intuitive combat mechanics and release special attacks as they fight across cinematic storylines, competitive arenas, and time-limited events.
