Developer Evil Gingerbread Studio announced that its upcoming title Whispers of the Eyeless is launching on early access sometime late this year or early 2025. It's going to be available for the PC via GOG and Steam. The game arriving soon to early access is a result of a highly successful Kickstarter campaign.

This dark fantasy strategy RPG is inspired by various other titles that include the likes of Darkest Dungeon, Loop Hero, Children of Morta and even Polish folklore. There are a lot of reasons though on what makes the game different from those in the same genre. These include having a dark comic style and feature a deep character customization and meta game. It also has a unique quest progression that's sure to offer a new gameplay experience.

In a statement, publisher Camlann Games CEO Slava Heretz shared they're excited to bring this family to life. He added that he's actually played the demo and even tried the different character classes.

In the game you get to take on the role of the last descendent of the Old Faith and First Prophet of the New Age. It's set in the city of Aranthor where new and old gods fight for power. Defeated, exiled and even almost forgotten, the Dead Gods have been silent for years. However, the Whispers have returned, and it seems like the "Dead" Gods were not dead. It's now up to you to bring these gods back to their full glory.

Infiltrating the City

In the city of Aranthor there are branching web of events within each of its district. There you can gather resources as well as gain experience. Each district also has unique enemies that you'll need to defeat in turn-based combat. Look forward as well to unique events and mechanics that's tied to denizens, culture and history of each district.

Grow the Cult

To bring back the Dead Gods to power, it's important for you to have followers. Once you have that you need to make sure that you're hidden since the new Living Gods are strong and there's no question that you're no match for them if discovered. However, as you grow, your cultists can be ordained as Disciples, and sent on Callings.

Indeed, there’s a lot to be excited about for this game. Wishlist Whispers of the Eyeless on Steam now.
