Moon Doors

Moon Doors take you to many places throughout Sorsaria. Each door has 3 trajectories. When a Moon Door appears, note the positions of the 2 moons (the two numbers at the top of the screen). If you press Space, these numbers change 3 times, then the door disappears. Depending on the moon positions, you are transported to different areas:

Solution

Finding the City of Dawn

Stand on top of Lord British's Castle, move west 8 and then south 35, and press Space until both moon numbers at the top of the screen are 0. Then type E (Enter).

Finding Ambrosia

Get a frigate and find the whirlpool. Sail into it and wait — it will say you died, but you don't. Be sure to bring at least 4 keys into Ambrosia; the only way out is to capture a boat and sail to a lock and unlock it.

The 4 shrines can be found in Ambrosia:

  • Strength — southwest
  • Dexterity — southeast
  • Intelligence — northwest
  • Wisdom — northeast

At each shrine, type O (Other), then SEARCH — you will find the Cards of Sol, Moons, Death, and Love.

Getting a Boat

When you see a pirate ship on the shore, move right next to it. Win the battle and the ship is yours.

Finding the Marks

To get the Marks of Fire, Force, Snake, and King, go to the Dungeon of Fire — it is surrounded on three sides by lava. Go southeast along the coast from Lord British's Castle; the dungeon is hidden in a dark forest. There is a hot spot on the wall — touch it to find one of the marks.

What each mark does:

  • Mark of Kings — Lets you gain more levels and hit points.
  • Mark of Fire — Walk through lava without taking damage.
  • Mark of Snake — Lets you pass by the earth serpent.
  • Mark of Force — Walk through a force field without taking damage.

Finding Exotic Weapons and Armor

The Exotic weapons can be found on islands near the city of Fawn — get on an island and type O (Other), then DIG. If it says "Not here!", move to the next square or next island.

The Exotic armor can be found on islands in the bay southwest of your current location — repeat the same commands.

Leveling Up

Run around, gain levels, and replenish your hit points with Lord British until you have a fair amount — around 6,000 to 10,000 hit points is recommended. Talk to everyone in towns; they reveal a lot.

The Final Quest

With Exotic weapons and armor on all your characters, board your frigate and begin the final quest.

Sail up to the earth serpent blocking the port entrance and {YELL} EVOCARE — your party will be transported to the other side of the snake. Move up to the castle and enter.

Inside, go straight north until you see a monster, then go either left or right into the moving lava. (Do not go toward the forcefield and guard — that passage just loops back to the entrance.) After the lava you will be attacked by dragons, wyverns, or griffins. Beware — these monsters can hurl blasts all the way across the arena.

After defeating them, continue north. You will encounter another group of dragons, then some balrons (devils). Kill them and continue north, watching out for the explosions all around — they can hit you and deal great damage. Note: time cannot be stopped in the castle, so do not bother using a powder or altair spell.

Keep going north and then east (or west, depending on which way you came in). You will see some writing on the wall: "death" — pay no heed. Go straight north into the lava. You will soon see a rectangular object with many moving colors — that is Exodus. Exodus is a machine!

Before you approach, be aware: the floors around Exodus are alive and will attack you. There are 4 groups of them and you cannot see them. Enter combat mode and arrange your players:

Wait until one of you gets hit, then start attacking with your Exotic weapons. After defeating all the floor creatures, move up to Exodus.

Move to the top-left corner of Exodus and type O (Other), then INSERT. It will ask: S, M, L, D?

  • Move to position 1 — type L (for Love)
  • Move one space right — type S (for Sol)
  • Move one space right — type M (for Moons)
  • Move one space right — type D (for Death)

Warning: If you insert any other card at the wrong position, it will drain all of your hit points.
