Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is finally here. With this, players can now begin their epic standalone adventure that spans multiple generations. The game is available for the PC via Steam along with consoles PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch. It's a 3D remake of the hit RPG which was released in Japan back in 1993 and sold at least one million copies.
In the game, players go on a generation-spanning adventure fending off the threat of the Seven Heroes while also expanding their empire. One of the interesting features of this remake is the Free-Form Scenario system where the choices of the players have an impact on the development of the story.
The game was possible through the efforts of the same team that developed the 2020 Trials of Mana remake. It was built from the ground-up and offers a standalone story which features, among others, modern visuals and reworked strategic gameplay. There are also other improvements that's sure to make longtime fans, or ever newbies, happy. Another interesting feature that the remake offers is allowing players to switch between the classic soundtrack and a newly rearranged version. By the way, the three difficulty modes can be adjusted at any point.
Demo Still Available
For those who are excited but not yet sure if the game is for them, not to worry sine the free demo of the game remains available on all players. In the demo, players take on the role of Emperor Leon and his second son Prince Gerard. They try to subdue Kzinssie, one of the Seven Heroes, and with it set the stage for the multi-generation story to unfold. Progress from the demo is carried over to the full game on that corresponding platform.
SaGa is a series of revolutionary role-playing games created by legendary game developer Akitoshi Kawazu (Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, SaGa Frontier). Ever since The Final Fantasy Legend was released back in 1990 for Game Boy, the series has expanded with several additional entries across numerous platforms.
