A New Adventure Begins January 8 When Lightracer: For Judge Arrives on Steam

Smartmelon Games announced that Lightracer: For Judge is coming out on January 8. It's going to be available on Steam and priced at $9.99. However, there's a special 10% off discount available for the first two weeks from release.

Delaying the Release

Lightracer: For Judge takes place in a highly developed dystopian future world where technology and society have managed to develop significantly. The game was initially planned to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2024. However, this was later delayed to 2025.

In a post, the studio revealed that the main reason for the delay was to make sure that the title lives up to the expectations of the players. Compared to the previous game Lightracer Spark, there is more text available and even more intricate story branches. Because of this, the studio said that it was important to " take additional time for thorough testing and refinement."

Meet the Judge

The game is set in a time where the rapid development of technology has gradually transformed the trillions of living beings into two groups which are the "Aeternus" and the "Mortalis." Players take on the role of an Aeternus Judge. They may be in a place of high power but the problem is that it seems they've lost all the memories. While they can still determine the rise and fall of countless lives, players are under strict control. By meeting new people and experiencing those unfamiliar things, they'll be able to see the imbalance that's caused by science and technology. Players also need to learn more about what divides "Aeternus" and "Mortalis."

As Judge, players need to handle daily issues from subordinates along with urgent requests from diverse individuals. These characters may need assistance, want to register a complaint, or seek support for their views on a particular policy.
