Developer Tableflip announced that FATE: Reawakened is launching on various platforms. These include the PC and consoles PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch. This title is a full remaster of the original FATE series.
While it remains true to its classic roots, the studio shared in a statement that FATE: Reawakened not only revitalizes the classic dungeon crawler series but it also comes with complete graphical overhauls and added language support. This version has the original game along with the sequels which are FATE: Undiscovered Realms, FATE: The Traitor Soul, and FATE: The Cursed King.
This four-in-one bundle brings with it a complete graphical update for all assets and an updated UI. There are the improved lighting and particle effects for example which brings the the darkest depths of the game’s dungeons to a whole new level.
Fans of the old version and new fans can look forward to enjoying new badges, emoticons, and profile backgrounds, particularly for the Steam-specific release. There are also a bunch of new achievements across all platforms. There are also new localizations like Spanish, German, French, Korean, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese language support.
Pioneer of the Genre
The FATE series is celebrated and recognized as one of the early pioneers when it comes to the ARPG genre. It's also considered as a notable precursor to games that include Torchlight. In the game, players go on an epic adventure and along the way fight vicious monsters, collect unique weapons, and even learn magical spells. It's been cited by a lot of players as their first dungeon crawler. FATE’s legacy is preserved and enhanced with Reawakened remaster since it conserves all the beloved characteristics of the original while giving the series a good polish.
A Powerhouse
During the golden era of action RPGs, FATE was considered as a powerhouse as it earned the runner-up spot for PC Magazine’s Role-Playing Game of the Year award. Its popularity led to the creation of three sequels and made it one of the premier dungeon crawlers of its time. With this upcoming version, a new generation of players now has the chance to enter the legendary town of Grove and experience the original games like never before.
