A new season is now live in Dark and Darker. With these, all character levels, items, stashes, inventory, reward tokens, karma, quests, affinity, and triumph levels have been reset. Of course, there are also new features added.
The Ship Graveyard
The new season introduces the first chapter in "The Blue Maelstrom" campaign. There's going to be dozens of new monsters to face and even two new bosses. For those who think they're ready, just head on to the dangerous open waters.
Squires to Riches
Players are invited to a new party focused PvP mode where everyone begins the adventure in low-end gear. Everyone is placed into a random dungeon where they need to scramble in finding the best loot and trying to outrun the foreboding Dark Swarm. The competition is fierce and players have to secure one of the limited random portals to extract with their newfound riches.
Faustian Bargain
Dying in dungeons doesn't automatically mean the end of an adventure. Players can show their fighting spirit in the dungeons and a mysterious figure may grant them a deal you can’t refuse with a chance for ever sweet revenge.
Unified Adventure Rank
Adventurer Rank progress is now unified across all party sizes. Players no longer need to start their Adventure Rank journey afresh just because a member of the crew decided to go to bed.
Other New Content
Additional content released with the new season are:
- Perks and Skills: More than 50 changes to numerous underutilized perks and skills to improve build diversity of classes.
- Dozens of new items, weapons, and armors: A wide range of new items including a new powerful hand cannon, a sea-worthy cutlass, and vibrant new equipment to stand out from the crowd and help improve build diversity.
- Hall of Fame: Track performance against the best of the best High-Roller adventurers to see who comes out on top each week.
Seasonal Pack
As part of the new season, developer Ironmace has released a new Seasonal Pack. It's priced at $9.99 and contains:
- Three (3) Permanent Cosmetics – Ship Graveyard-themed Special Items
- Captain’s Wrecked Cabin Lobby Skin
- Scuttler’s Flame Torch Skin
- Gazing at the Horizon Emote
Dark and Darker is a first-person fantasy dungeon adventure that features a hardcore and unforgiving environment then combines it with a compelling classically-inspired fantasy lore and immersive gameplay mechanics. Players face a dual challenge where they not only confront hideous monsters and find hidden relics but also find escape routes before a mysterious ever-growing darkness engulfs them.
