The cooperative deck-building game Across the Obelisk is now available for the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S. It’s being offered for $24.99 and can be purchased through digital storefronts.
The game was first released for the PC via Steam and the Nintendo Switch. With full cross-platform multiplayer available between all platforms, players everywhere can enjoy the unique party-based RPG mechanics. For example, the four-player party can now have players join regardless of the platform.
That’s not all since the DLC-sharing options let groups experience any content owned by any member of the party. What this means is that expansion characters can join any group regardless of whether other players have purchased those characters. In addition, groups can visit any expansion maps that were already purchased by anybody on the party. By the way, all DLC released for the game since it was first released on PC are available across all platforms.
Across the Obelisk is a robust dynamic deck-building role-playing game that features solo play or cooperative modes that can include up to three friends. The game offers an exciting roguelite format with procedural generation and gives players a highly replayable experience that’s sure to keep them engaged for hours.
The character roster for the game includes 16 unlockable characters, letting players form some truly unique party combinations. The game ensures variety as each character has unique skills, cards, items, mechanics, and stats. The composition of the party could vary from a fully damage-oriented group to a balanced team with heals.
Further customization options are available through more than 500 upgradeable cards and 200 items to equip the heroes. Players have the freedom to imbue their heroes with different builds that feature unique specialties ranging from poison attacks to defensive skills.
The game world is affected by the decision of the players during events and quests and thus contributes to how the story unfolds. In addition to combat and character customization, the game also teases hidden places and mysteries that’s waiting to be solved. The storyline isn’t secondary to the gameplay. There’s no question that Across the Obelisk caters to different play styles and strategies while ensuring an immersive RPG experience.
