The Metroidvania side-scrolling action game AWAKEN - Astral Blade has been released globally. It's available through digital platforms for the PlayStation 5 and the PC via Steam. There's also a 10% launch discount offered on both platforms.
Different Editions
Aside from the standard edition, PC players can also get the Deluxe Edition. This one has the base game along with other digital content that includes a special Golden Scale Set, the original soundtrack by Alexandria Migova, and a Digital Artbook with concept art and illustrations from the game.
Meanwhile for the PS5 players, those who purchase the digital version of the game get to unlock the free and exclusive skin "Limitless Set" along with a special cosmetic skin for Tania.
By the way, a physical Tania’s Edition has been launched though it's limited to European specialist retailers.
Talking about this release, Dark Pigeon Producer Tian Yuan shared in a statement that the team who worked on the game is composed of close friends and have even worked on several projects. He added that they all share a common passion which is “to make great games.” He went on to say that with the support of ESDIgital Games, they’ve been able to make a game that they would want to play themselves.
Meanwhile, ESDigital Games Managing Director Oleg Kudishov revealed that they’re excited for the release of the game and for it to be finally in the hands of the community.
Tania’s Journey
The game follows the story of the bionic girl Tania. She’s been sent by her creator Dr. Herveus to search, and possibly rescue, a missing investigation team in the rainforest of Horace Islands. It is here that Tania discovers that the island is flooded with Karpas energy. This same energy has turned local flora and fauna into aggressive mutants.
As she goes deeper into the forests, Tania comes across centuries-old remains of Jacha City, a long-lost civilization that has been thought to be extinct. She also learns about the former Royal Altar and ground zero of the Karpas energy. With this, Tania’s journey truly begins as she uncovers ancient secrets buried deep within the ruins and discover the truth of the Kapras Energy. Along the way she also gets to know more about the truth of her own origins and destiny.
