Developer Virtual Alchemy announced that Band of Crusaders is going to be available for the PC via Steam. This dark medieval strategy RPG puts you in the role of a Grandmaster of the knightly order and lead in the fight versus the demonic invasion of Europe.
Set in medieval Europe, it's land where sins have given rise to demonic amalgamations. Heresy and fear are slowly consuming the entire realm. As Grandmaster of a knightly order, you've been tasked to a crusade against this rather unholy menace.
Combat System
One key feature of the game is the dynamic and tactical combat system which is enhanced with the slow-motion mechanics. To win, you'll need to be aware of character synergies, ensure smart use of abilities, and have good unit positioning. It's important to keep of all these in mind since the consequences of combat are significant. After all, every hit could lead to the permanent death of a crusader. Engagements are sure to pull you into deep, stat-driven and party-based combat.
Camp Management
Another feature of the game is Camp Management. This one lets you manage and develop a roster of as much as 20 crusader knights. Each crusader brings something unique considering that they have their own backgrounds, strengths, and weakness, The camp also has upgradable buildings which offer intricate interactions designed to foster experimentation and strategic campaign progression.
Character Customization
Of course, it won’t be an RPG without customization. You can progress your character through the various abilities and attributes with skill trees. The thing is that in this game, everyone is encouraged to come up with multi-role builds. You can also choose the equipment that bests support the combat strategy you have while also improving it throughout the campaign. This is important since without any fixed character classes, abilities are universal while at the same time connect directly with weapons of the crusaders.
Dynamic Progression
In the game, the world changes over time and this is made possible by the interactions of the players and NPCs. Your progress in the game is influenced by the simulated invasion of demonic forces along with the triggering reactions from human factions.
