Looks like there's going to be new playable clan in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 and it's none other than the Banu Haqim. This was confirmed by Paradox Interactive and The Chinese Room last week. The Banu Haqim is all about stalking, outmaneuvering, and assassinating their enemies. That's because the clan specializes in combat from the shadows using unseen maneuvers and silent takedowns.
Aside from their ability for combat, the Banu Haqim are also known for being able to keep their bloodlust in check. Thus they're not only excellent when it comes to dealing with threats and handing out consequences, they also are fiercely devoted when it comes to upholding a moral code. Indeed, as they lurk in the shadows, they use their vampiric Disciplines to hunt while making sure to remain hidden. They then deal with swift and precise strikes to enforce their sense of justice.
In a statement, The Chinese Room Project Creative Director Alex Skidmore revealed that with the Banu Haqim, it not only offers a unique perspective to the world of the game but also changes how players may approach combat. To make the most out of what the clan can do, players need to approach encounters carefully. Skidmore also said that given the clan is all about being patient and careful, it's a good option for players who want a more strategic experience.
Meanwhile, Sean Greaney shared that this clan should be good new to players looking for a more tactical playstyle. Greaney is currently the Executive Vice President of World of Darkness at Paradox Interactive. He added that each clan in the game has unique qualities and that The Chinese Room had done a good job in translating these rather "complex entities into an impactful RPG experience."
The game is a successor to the cult-classic Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines. It takes players to the dark underbelly of Seattle, a place where vampires struggle for survival and supremacy. It features Phyre, an Elder Kindred embraced during the early 17th Century.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is coming out in Fall 2024 and to be available for the PC. Wishlist it now on Steam.
