Developer ALX Theory is inviting everyone to be part of the exclusive playtest for Swordai. This playtest is scheduled to start September 30 and run until October 6.
Those able to join the upcoming playtest get to be among the first to try the merciless trials that the game has to offer. According to the studio, this playtest is going to be granted so that the testing experience is optimal. By having this playtest, the studio hopes to get much needed feedback during the game's crucial stage of development.
Improved Player Experience
The game offers a combat system that is easy to learn but difficult to master. Starting with basic abilities, players get to learn more about the game's combat system and unlock more advanced moves as they progress across the game. Since each dungeon presents a unique challenge, it means players must constantly adapt and complete different levels. The game also has scaling dungeons which means players can obtain better loot as they move forward. That's not all since there are NPCs scattered across these dungeons which also offer different rewards.
Revamped Systems
Aside from being able to master the game’s directional combat system, players can also check out the complex crafting system by combining different items through recipes which let them unlock as many as 25 unique abilities. This new feature also enhances the skill tree system where players get to personalize their fighting style with distinct attributes.
Expanded Dungeon Design
The studio also revealed in a statement that the dungeons in the game have been expanded. In particular, each dungeon in the game is now around 50% larger. The layouts are more complex and there’s even a new tier 1 dungeon area. Players can also look forward to the advanced portal system where they need to act quickly in life-or-death chase.
If you're one of those interested in joining the playtest, head on over to Swordai's official Steam page.
