Developer ZeniMax Online Studios announced that they're introducing Class Mastery in The Elder Scrolls Online. It's going to arrive through Update 50 on June 8. This should allow players a new way to further hone their builds while at the same time being rewarded for that steadfast dedication to their class.
The studio went on to say that they're also adding a new passive skill line for each of the seven classes in the game. This means Class Mastery lets players lean into the mechanics that make their class and build special.
However, Class Mastery won't be something that's automatic. To access this feature, players need to have reached level 50 for all three of the skill lines of their class. In addition, they need to be a master of their class. Players should also not be actively using the Subclassing system since Class Mastery options are hidden while using this particular system.
As mentioned above, each class gains access to a skill line with five new passives. Players though can only obtain two Class Mastery Points total. That means they’ll have to choose which passives to activate based on the desired playstyle.
That said, a lot of the new passives buff or expand upon the abilities already found within a class’s skill line. The studio also shared that for those who prefer playing "pure" classes, this upcoming new Class Mastery system rewards that dedication with powerful new boons. This should be a good reward.
