Larian Studios announced that the closed beta for the upcoming Patch 7 of Baldur's Gate 3 has been delayed. Instead of starting today, it's going to instead begin sometime later this week.
What exactly happened? According to the studio, they were working on one of the fixes to be introduced in Patch 7 which resulted in the passive rolls to stop working. While they're figuring out exactly what happened, it meant that the closed beta was going to be done at a later date. The good news is that this means there's now time to register for those who want to join the beta.
Patch 7 Highlights
There's a lot to be excited about for Patch 7 and according to the studio, there's more than 1,000 fixes and improvements set to be introduced. One of the highlights is the addition of "Evil Endings." These are new cinematic endings for those who decide to play a villainous role. There's also going to be a new Mod Manager which allows players to browse, install, and even use the mods created by the community.
Patch 7 is also making changes to the split screen gameplay. What's going to happen is that when playing on split screen, the two halves of the screen now dynamically merge together when the player characters come close to each other in-game. It then dynamically splits back up when the characters move apart. How cool is that? You can learn more about what's being planned for Patch 7 here.
