We finally have a release date for Deathbound and it looks like it's launching worldwide on August 8. This dynamic single-player and party-based soulslike game is going to be available for the PC, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X/S. For those who are excited to try the game, a free demo is currently available on Steam.
Deathbound is a party-based soulslike game that's set in a harsh world where Faith clashes with Science. It's a world where you won't be able to survive alone. Which means you have to refuse Death and embrace Ziêminal by bonding with the various fallen warriors that you encounter on the journey. With the use of a dynamic 4-hero party system, you can seamlessly transform between characters mid-combat to increase survival. Each comrade comes with their own skills, combat techniques, and even backstory. The key is to work together in order to get the victory.
The dynamics that are present between the characters have an impact on the gameplay and can even lead to different outcomes and status effects based on your actions. For example, let's say you align the Church of Death and Cult of Life. Considering that you're putting two opposing factions within the vessel, it results in a conflict and with it consequential combat effects. Meanwhile, pairing fallen warriors who have similar beliefs results in strong combat buffs, which is perfect when it comes to taking down enemies.
Whether they have similarities or differences, it's important that the fallen has to be united in combat. By charging a shared sync meter during battles, you should be able to release a devastating Morphstrike combining the party's strength, crucial for overcoming deadly adversaries.
Here are some key features of the game:
- Gain the skills, memories and identities of fallen warriors throughout the world.
- The game features a robust party system that allows you to craft a playstyle through talent trees.
- Release the combined powers of fallen warriors with devastating Morphstrikes.
- Ziêminal is a world that mixes a technological past and a medieval present, home to diverse cultures.
- Unforgiving Monsters and Bosses - Face challenging enemies crafted to push you to your limits.
