Debt Deadline, a psycho-thriller narrative RPG, has recently unveiled its new announcement teaser. Developed by the three-person team at Whispering Naked Man, an indie game studio based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the game promises to bring a unique gaming experience by combining elements of visual novels and adventure games in a retro-cinematic art style.
Debt Deadline takes players on a thrilling journey where they can throw dice, increase their reputation levels, gain perks, buy equipment, and use violence to manipulate the game's characters. The game’s narrative is powered by a procedural fiction engine, which creates unique playthroughs by weaving hundreds of micro-events that occur only when it makes sense.
The game's director, Brian Amadori, shares his aspirations for Debt Deadline: “I hope to make a narrative game that reacts to your decisions in a snappy way, without drowning you in walls of text. However, I’m influenced by narrative RPGs like Citizen Sleeper, Roadwarden, Six Ages, Disco Elysium, etc. I’m just aiming to make my twist to the formula.”
Debt Deadline is set for a Q1 2025 release on PC, MAC, and LINUX. You can wishlist the game now on Steam.
