If you're one of those who long for the days of old school RPG, then consider your wish about to be granted. Pandora Media Games is working on Seed of Pandora: Legend of the Gaia Tree. The game is set to be available for the PC via Steam.
When you look at what the game has to offer, there's no question that it's a throwback RPG especially with the classic 16-bit pixel art style. The game is set in the Kingdom of Garda, which is located in the southernmost continent of Pandora. In this region lies the great Gaia Tree, also called the tree of life. Stories have been told that the seeds of this great tree gave rise to all life in the world.
The Gaia Tree has long been protected by a group of monks known as the Gaia Sect. However, they have since been banished by the first King of Garda to the endless southern seas. The monks have been accused of heresy as well as abusing the power they obtained from the magical seeds. It’s been more than 100 years since the war against the Gaia Sect was fought. The citizens of Garda enjoy a simple life of relative peace, and this is where the adventure starts.
Seed of Pandora: Legend of the Gaia Tree invites players to an adventure on the continent of Pandora and along the way get to meet helpful companions that ultimately become their lifelong friends. There's a lot of secrets that's just waiting to be discovered.
The game's fast paced turn-based battle gives it a feeling as if the game was made during the golden era of RPG's. However, it has a lot of modern-day quality of life improvements along with a focus on fun gameplay. Making the experience better are the beautiful anime cutscenes which bring the story to life through gorgeous hand drawn art.
While there’s no word yet on when the game is coming out, there’s some good news. A free demo of the game is currently available for download over on Steam. If you think Seed of Pandora: Legend of the Gaia Tree is worth it, wishlist it on Steam now.
