Get ready to enter a world of guns and sorcery in Dark Envoy. It's now out for the PC through Steam and being offered at a 10% discount for a limited period. The game takes players to the lush dangerous world of Jäan where they can play solo or with friends via online co-op.
Dark Envoy offers those new to the genre and long-time fans of of classic RPGs a new world that's waiting to be explored. The story follows siblings Kaela and Malakai who sets out on a mission to learn the truth and face off with their newfound destiny. It takes players across four acts where they get to guide the plot based on their choices. The choices have an impact on the world and the final outcome of the journey.
Key features to look forward to includes:
- Players get to control the battlefield and make the most of the terrain to their advantage.
- Meet intriguing companions ready to lend their blades to the cause though players need to keep a close watch on some especially those who join only based on the choices made during the game.
- Hand-drawn spells like the Engineer’s Shocking Ground or Warrior’s High Wall can be “painted” and allow players to add a special flair to their magical attacks.
- Embark across rich and lore-filled locations encountering a range of enemies and daunting bosses.
- Craft and enchant items and weapons to get that edge in combat.
- Discover different technological or magical paths further to increase the capabilities or power of the party.
- The main content takes about 20 hours of gameplay time with an optional content that adds another 15 hours.
- To conquer the "Insane" difficulty, players need to think outside the box and exploit the game's mechanics to their limits.
- 'Story' mode is for players who prefer to immerse themselves in the narrative through a 'show, not tell' approach, focusing solely on the unfolding story.
Talking about this new release, Event Horizon CEO and Founder Krzysztof Monkiewicz shared in a statement that they’ve been passionate when it came to CRPGs while also being committed to improving the classic. He added that their journey started with “Tower of Time” and with this game wanted to push the boundaries.
