Witchfire invites everyone to be a sinner turned witch hunter on a final mission to achieve Salvation. The game is now on Steam Early Access. As part of the launch, it's being offered at 10% off until October.
Witchfire is developed by The Astronauts, the same studio responsible for titles like Painkiller and Bulletstorm. The said, the studio revealed that while the game is in early access, players can look forward to new areas, new weapons, and even new enemies. The development team is also hoping that players provide feedback to allow the game to reach its full potential.
In the game, players have to piece together a story from the past in order to save the future. They'll need to investigate ships that are crashing on the verge of the witch’s land and try to find the artifact which can tip the scales in the ongoing battle between the Church and the witches.
As they go on each expedition, players can obtain looted items or for those who are feeling confident, face the witch’s Familiar and get to unlock new areas along with getting powerful items and upgrades. To make sure that they succeed in the fight against the Witch of the Black Sea and her army, it's important to have skill and knowledge. For those who fail and die, they battlefield for that one-time chance to reclaim what was lost or maybe attack again but this time with a new plan.
Players should also keep in mind that only the most wicked of sinners are transformed into preyers. These are undead assassins who are sustained by witchfire that’s flowing through their veins. Over in their base of operations called as the hermitory, they can choose from a wide range of unique weapons, artifacts, and spells.
