ATLUS announced that a free demo of Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is now available on PC as well as PlayStation. This should be good news for those who want to play the game but not sure if it's for them.
In the demo, players get to choose from two paths. The first is "Canon of Creation" which tells the story of an eternal conflict between angels and demons. In this one the protagonist fights for the fate of the world. The second one is the new story titled "Canon of Vengeance." This one tells the dramatic tale of revenge by the fallen and focuses on new characters along with an enigmatic cohort of demons known as the Qadištu. These demons plot their own dark designs apart from the war of those who fight to maintain order and those who seek to defy it.
Other features of the free demo are:
- Explore a post-apocalyptic Tokyo that's now reduced to an expansive wasteland called Da’at.
- Challenge up to four story bosses and enjoy around 20 subquests.
- Face up to six demon-infested obstacles to overcome and unlock more godly abilities.
- Encounter a wide variety of demons along the journey to recruit and create the ultimate battle team.
Please note that the save data from the demo can be used to continue progress in the full version with the same story and character status.
New Patch
The release of this free demo comes after a patch which was released early this month. New content introduced include:
- The new demon Marici of the Kishin race.
- Fan-selected Guide Demons (Hell's Angel, Idun, Fionn mac Cumhaill, Mothman, Mara, and Cleopatra).
- New Elite Difficulty for the Virtual Trainer.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance takes players to Tokyo which has been decimated. It's been reduced to an expansive wasteland and now being overrun by mythical demons. They get to roam across the wide and open areas while also exploring new locations to look for those life-saving items. Along the way they get to fight against various demons or meet new allies.
The game features stunning visuals for modern consoles and combines it with the dark lore and unnerving atmosphere. There are also the beautiful and monstrous demons who return better than ever. The game also offers more accessible gameplay, an improved battle system, new demon experiences, and greater field exploration.
