The full version of RuneScape: Dragonwilds is expected to come out on September 15. The 1.0 release sees the conclusion of the Kuldra Saga as players make their way into the Scorned Wilderness raid.
In a post, developer Jagex shared that while it means the end of Queen Kuldra's story, it's not the end of the story of Ashenfall. There's still a lot to discover like a new frontier of civilization or the ancient magics which block that. The studio went on to say that this is the planned direction of the story.
There's no question that once the 1.0 version comes out, it serves as a major milestone for the game. It means that more of everything is coming and the world continues to grow.
Updates for 2026
In a roadmap released a while back, one more update is in the works. Scorned Wilderness sees the introduction of a new region along with the Runite Tier and adds the Agility Skill.
Back in June, the Umbral Sands opened up to all players. In addition to participating in desert battles, players needed to survive the dynamic weather systems. Those who manage to survive the various challenges can then test their skill and face Fuzan. To earn the right to fight this new Dragon General, they have to fight their way across the Fight Cave.
Minor Update
A minor update has been released for the game and introduces everyone to "The Great Body Robbery." This is the longest Secondary Quest to date. This can be accessed in Bloodblight Swamp, which is an unfortunate experiment that has rendered the Fenkenstrain in a bit of a pickle. Players need to help him out and in return they can earn new club weapon that's shockingly good. They can also earn a buildable decoration called the Pylon. This functional decoration generates an area of effect in a radius around it that intercepts lightning strikes to allow players to build in places known for inclement weather.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds is set in the forgotten continent of Ashenfall and a time where dragons have awoken. To survive against the threat of the Dragons, players need to level up and arm themselves before facing these threats. They'll have to follow the trail of destruction and uncover the mysteries of the continent in order to learn not only how to confront the dragons but more importantly how to overcome them.
