Imagine an open world school game where you get to do a lot of things. Bully a classmate? Check. Blow up the school? Why not? Study hard? Of course. These are just some of the things that you can do in Return to Campus. The game arrives on Steam this January 13.
The game is set in a school which you can explore freely. Indeed, there’s a lot to do in the game. This is in addition to what’s already mentioned. For example, you can go to the women's restroom at times when you need to go to the toilet. Not content with just bringing books to school? Why not take all the pots and pans you have at home? If you’re feeling a bit naughty you can take things that belong to your roommate or better yet just grab items in the supermarket instead of paying for them. By the way, all the scenes and buildings are loaded rather seamlessly.
Taking the experience to a higher level is the use of the Unreal Engine 5 along with other next-generation technologies. Nanite for instance ensures that the model has a high level of precision much like that of a movie. Lumen on the other allows for something comparable to the natural environment of the light and shadow. This results in the alternation of day and night in the game not only real but even details. Then there’s the first-person perspective so give everyone that truly immersive experience.
Game is Free
There is one interesting offer that you’re sure to love and that is the game is available for free once it comes out. In a post, the developer revealed that he is an independent game producer and produced the game alone. It took a lot of energy and effort and the developer shared that the hope is to have more people play the game.
The developer went on to say that this decision was mainly based on the fact that a lot of studios often treat games as commodities. At the end of the day, if it’s a good game then there would always be support.
What do you think? Excited about the game? Wishlist Return to Campus on Steam now.
