In case you didn't know, Core Keeper is coming out of early access next week. That means 1.0 is almost here. However, even before the game is released you get the chance to check out the game.

Core Keeper is actually in Early Access on Steam. Then starting today, August 22, and all the way to August 26 the game is set to be part of the Steam Free Weekend. What this means is that you can learn more about this sandbox adventure all for free. That's not all since there's also the option to choose whether to play the Classic Worlds in the early access version of the Worlds that's going to be available in the 1.0 version.

The free weekend also lets you try out the new Mage and Warlock combat playstyles. You can also experience the new world generation tool, which is one of the new features to be introduced with 1.0 version. This feature lets you customize different worlds using different parameters and geometry.

Those who play the game during the Steam Free Weekend and then buy it can carry over any worlds, characters, and even progress that they have to the full 1.0 release once it comes out. Those who already have Core Keeper meanwhile can access the new world generation feature and combat playstyles during the Steam Free Weekend.

Core Keeper is a mining sandbox adventure game with procedural generation where players take on the role of explorers who awaken in an ancient cavern of creatures, resources, and trinkets. The players need to mine relics and resources to build their base, craft new equipment, and power up the Core. They must also discover hidden secrets, farm crops, cook new recipes, and explore the vast underground cave of endless resources.

The game offers players a chance to delve into living biomes, fight cavernous creatures in a vast subterranean system, and scour the dark world around them to encounter underground behemoths. Customization is available in the game, through which players can craft new items, armor, and equipment to venture further into the caves.

Core Keeper 1.0 is releasing on August 27. Try the game on Steam now.
