Greed from DreamLion Offers a Combination of RPG and Tower Defense

Greed is a game from developer DreamLion that offers interesting features. It's a game that combines the genres of tower defense and RPG.

The game focuses on a great devil named Greedy. He has lived for a thousand years but was turned into a sealed crystal as he was mining gold. He has summoned you to this world and is tasked with protecting the crystal. The problem is that you are too weak and need to build towers to fight against the monsters. Making the situation worse is that your apparent greed has also confused Greedy, making him ask if you’re greedy or if he is too greedy.

Survive the Waves

As mentioned, you’ll need to survive the waves of monsters that attack your base periodically. There’s going to be some easy waves but harder are also making their presence felt. To increase your chances of surviving, you’ll have to explore the map and harvest resources. Then you upgrade the attributes of your characters and build and upgrade those defense towers.

The problem is that when you harvest resources, it results in an increase in the Disaster Level. The higher the Disaster Level, the stronger the monsters that attack. That means you’ll have to find a way to make sure that you can defend against the monster waves before harvesting too many resources.

It is also possible to grow crops, trade, and then challenge special monster waves. This allows you to gather unique resources. After that, a high Disaster Level unlocks additional features and new towers.

Future Features

The game is currently in early access on Steam. However, there are features currently in the works that include:

  • A city map where you get to interact with NPCs, give gifts, and receive quests.
  • Stronger tower upgrades that include mutated towers.
  • Equipment and equipment upgrades.
  • Combat skills for the character.
  • Completing special challenges to enhance character attributes.

What do you think? Excited to try out the game? This should be a good time to buy the game since it’s currently being offered at 60% off on Steam until January 3. For those not sure if the game is for them, a demo of Greed is available free on Steam.
