2P Games announced that full Japanese voice acting is now available in The Hungry Lamb: Traveling in the Late Ming Dynasty. This voice-over update is free to those who already have the game.
For the Japanese voice acting, it was conducted by voice director Tomohiro Seki along with recording engineer Yuki Nichiyama. Lending her voice for the main character Sui is none other than Kugimiya Rie. She's known for her performances like Alphonse Elric in the Fullmetal Alchemist series, Kagura in Gintama, and Happy in Fairy Tail and Edens Zero. She also voiced video game characters that include Haruka Sawamura in the Yakuza series and Kiana Kaslana in Honkai Impact 3rd.
The other voice actors are:
- Kazuma Horie as Tongue
- Miyamoto Katsuya as The Swine Demon
- Shimizu Risa as Qiong Hua
- Watanabe Hiroko as Hong’er
- Yamada Yuina as Cui’er
- Watanabe Hiroko as Kite
- Kazuma Horie as The Dashing King
The game focuses on Liang the bandit and his companion Tongue. They've been commissioned for a job by an unsavory merchant where they have to escort four girls to a wealthy lord in the city of Luoyang. To do this, they'll have to pass through Huazhou, Wenxiang, and Shanzhou.
At first, Liang thinks that the girls he's escorting is going to be sold to a wealthy lord and adopted and his daughters to start a new life. However, one of the girls named "Sui" reveals the truth to Liang. It turns out that the so-called wealthy lord is a swine demon who has been devouring young ladies for more than a thousand years. Sui goes on to say that each year on his birthday, the lord has human traffickers abduct girls from Shaanxi. One of those girls has been Sui's sister.
Sui hopes to convince Liang to end the escort and instead join her in assassinating the swine demon. This is to avenge not only her sister but also all those who have perished in recent years. While Liang wants to believe what Sui is saying, her story seems to have too many inconsistencies. As they go through this journey, Liang has to gather information and learn more about the truth. Only then can he make the decisions whether to help or not.
