Pollard Studio unveiled the final trilogy of trailers leading up to the anticipated release date of KARMA: The Dark World. This trilogy of trailers not only gives a peek at what the game has to offer but also to build excitement for the upcoming title. The first trailer has actually been released and sets the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable experience.
These trailers are inspired by the works of truly visionary creators that include the likes of Christopher Nolan (Inception, Interstellar), Hideo Kojima (Metal Gear Solid, Death Stranding), and David Lynch (Twin Peaks). With the passing of David Lynch, Pollard Studio Art Director Ke Yang shared in a statement that Lynch has a "profound influence" on the game development and inspired that studio to not only pay tribute to his work but also learn from it.
Meanwhile, Creative Director Yonghe Wang revealed that they would usually choose to watch the films of David Lynch during movie nights. He added that while they could never surpass someone like Lynch, there is always to "hope to learn from him."

A Dystopian World
Karma: The Dark World is a first-person cinematic psychological thriller that's set in 1984 in East Germany. In this alternate timeline, a group known as the Leviathan Corporation rules with an iron fist. They control the citizens through mass surveillance, social class rules, and mind altering drugs. Then there's also the promise that the gates to Utopia will open to those who serve.
Players take on the role of Daniel McGovern. He’s a Roam Agent working for Leviathan’s Thought Bureau. With the use of advanced technology, he dives into the minds of the accused as he investigates crime scenes, interviews suspects, and reports findings back to Leviathan.
Pushing the Boundaries
In addition to a cinematic story, another feature of the game is the use of Unreal Engine 5. This allows the game to push the visual boundaries of storytelling as it combines meticulously detailed visuals of a dystopian reality along with high quality motion-capped acting and mind bending surreal environments.
