Drattzy Games announced that the Kickstarter campaign for Alterium Shift is launching February 4. It was supposed to be started a bit earlier but the studio wanted to have more time to prepare and ensure that the campaign was a success.
In a statement, the studio shared preparing for the Kickstarter campaign was a learning process and one of the takeaways they had was that it was important to have a "strong pre-launch presence." It was important to have more followers and email sign-ups before the campaign officially starts. The studio revealed that they have received more than 600 email sign-ups and at least 300 Kickstarter followers.
The thing is, Alterium Shift is actually in Early Access on Steam. In addition, around 50% of the core content is ready. Why the need for a Kickstarter then? It looks like in addition to offering new features, the studio also wants to expand the game and make it available to new platforms.
Kickstarter Campaign
So far, the studio has not yet revealed the rewards available and the corresponding amount. However, the studio also gave a peek on what to expect which include:

- Custom In-Game Content (NPCs, Easter Eggs, Items)
- Digital Maps of the Game World(s)
