The Farm 51 announced that they have launched the official Kickstarter fundraiser campaign for Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone. With this, the studio should be able to expand the game with fully switchable first-person and third-person perspectives in any gameplay moment.
The studio had launched its first Kickstarter campaign a few years ago and the response to that exceeded their wildest expectations. Because of that support, the studio was able to develop the original Chernobylite and released it by 2021 for the PC and consoles PlayStation and Xbox. It has recently been made available for the Nintendo Switch.
The studio shared in a statement that with the help of the community, they should be able to meet the same success with Chernobylite 2. Indeed, the studio revealed that over the past few months, they've been listening to the community and one issue identified was the move to third-person combat for the new game. It appears that a lot of players missed the first-person perspective which let them play the game with the focus on detail of beautifully recreated 3D-scanned Chornobyl Zone. The studio assured everyone that they'll work on this and that's why they need Kickstarter support.

Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone is a post-apocalyptic action RPG which offers free exploration of a huge and extremely realistic open world. The game also offers challenging combat along with unique crafting and even team and base management with non-linear storytelling. In this upcoming title, the main character tries to escape the sinister Exclusion Zone and return home. They’ll need to break the barriers of time and space as they fight the emanations of the insidious Chernobylite.
The story told in the game has players fight to survive in the most dangerous place on Earth. Whether they become the hunted or the hunter depends on how quickly they can evolve, their ability to adapt, and the strategy they follow when exploring the open world of the Chornobyl area. In the daytime, players can see the Zone as an intriguing, exciting, or even beautiful area. However, when dusk comes the absolute terror starts and they’ll have to face it every night.
