MapleStory Invites You to the Champion Burning Event

Nexon has launched a new event for MapleStory. This one has players double the rewards not only for one but actually two characters at the same time. The Champion Burning Double Up event runs from January 15 to March 18.

To join, players need to have characters who are at least Level 101 and finished the "[Champion Burning] Your Champion and Mine" quest. In addition, participation is limited to one world per account.

What's going to happen is that players have to open the Champion Burning UI and press the "Designate" button. The first Champion designated becomes the Leader while two other characters can be designated as Champions. The Leader can be changed once a week from the designated Champions. Take note that when switching Leaders, any unused Double Up EXP Points from the current Leader is lost.

Double Up EXP Points

Now when the Leader defeats monsters near their level, which is 20 levels below and 20 levels above, the other Champions receive 1 Double Up EXP Point for every monster defeated. Monster defeats only count when in a solo party or not in a party at all. In addition, monster defeat count when summoning monsters with VIP Booster.

That said, Double Up EXP Points are evenly distributed among the Champions, with a weekly cap of 100,000 points. Players can then log in as each Champion to claim and use the earned EXP points. Double Up EXP Points can be used on Mega Burning, Tera Burning, and Hyper Burning characters.

Double Up Coins

The Leader can also complete Double Up check-ins and in return earn Double Up Coins by defeating 2,000 monsters near their level. Monster defeats only count when in a solo party or not in a party at all.

Players can check-in three times a week, up to a total of 24 times. Only the Leader can click the "Claim" check-in button. For each check-in, all Champions receive 2,500 Double Up Coins. Coins and purchases in the Double Up Coin Shop are saved for existing Champions but are not shared among characters. Players can spend 3,000 Maple Points to use a Double Up Pass for missed check-in days. All Champions receive 2,500 Double Up Coins, for each Double Up Pass used.
