Mortis Chronicles: Tale of Cowardice, an indie game developed by Radiance Digital and published by Noovola, has announced its demo release on Steam, set to debut on October 5th, 2023. The game, which successfully funded its Kickstarter campaign last year, is a retro-inspired JRPG that promises to offer both seasoned adventurers and newcomers a challenging and memorable experience. The game's demo will be featured on Steam for a limited time, providing players with the chance to explore the game's intricate mechanics, unravel its storyline, and master its turn-based combat system.
The world of Mortis Chronicles: Tale of Cowardice is set in Arcadia, a realm under siege by formidable demons. Players will need to rally their allies, harness the power of magic, and face a series of challenges to save their world. The game's demo will be playable throughout the scheduled Steam Next Fest, starting on October 9th and ending on October 16th. This 11-day window will allow players to get a taste of the game's depth and detail before the full release.
Mark Lecarde, founder and lead developer at Radiance Digital, expressed his excitement about the upcoming demo release. “When I started working on Tale of Cowardice in 2021, it was a small solo-dev project. I never thought we’d get so close to a demo, so quickly!” He said. Sophia Adlington, Creative Director at Noovola, also shared her enthusiasm, saying, “We fell in love with its prospects, and saw the game, and the studio, grow from a concept to what will be their first shipping, the Mortis Chronicles Demo this October, which I hope will resonate with JRPG fans!"
