The second major Early Access update for Bloodgrounds is now live. It offers new gameplay experiences while at the same time bolster each gladiator class with an extra new ability.
In a post, Exordium Games revealed that the new Abilities were chosen to round out each kit along with additional synergies. This allows it to offer more exciting choices and enable new interesting builds to tackle Challenges.
The new class abilities are:
- Blizzard (Class Mystic): Move through empty spaces, damaging, and applying Frost to targets along the path and leaving Frozen Ground in your wake.
- Rally (Class Retiarius): Rally-up all allies within range and restore their missing Armor and applying Haste.
- Groundbreaker (Class Secutor): Slam the ground in front of you and send out a shockwave that damages and applies Slow to all targets in a pattern.
- Viper Dance (Class Serpens): Spin around throwing daggers in all 4 directions, damaging, and applying Bleed to the first target in line.
- Flashflare (Class Arcum): Throw a dazzling explosive in a line, hitting the first target and pushing them back.
- Bladestorm (Class Saltator): Jump forward on an empty space throwing daggers and damaging all targets in a pattern.
- Banish (Class Sacerdos): Attack the first target in a line, pushing them back up to 3 spaces and summon Electrified Ground on the targeted space.
- Nightmare Pulse (Class Caligo): Attack an enemy within range which then chain attacks up to 3 additional enemies or objects.
- Wildgrowth (Class Arborius): Enchant the ground beneath you, healing all allies and applying Poison to all enemies in a pattern.
Expeditions
The life of a gladiator is not all about fighting. There are time when even warriors want to go out into the world and do errands, obtain new gear through trade, maintain diplomatic relationships, or gather information through espionage. In addition to steel and gold, gladiators can also earn rewards that include improved prowess, new proficiencies, and even life changing experiences made along the way.
Bloodgrounds features tactical turn-based combat and combines it with strategic management while adding RPG and roguelite elements. As someone forged in the pits of the arena, players fought their way out and now as a wealthy patron they recruit, train, and command a team of hardened Gladiators to glory or death.
