It's only been a few days since it was announced that Days of Doom was launching on September 21. Publisher Atari isn't taking things and has released a new gameplay trailer for this turn-based RPG roguelite.
The new video gives us a look at the Sanctuary and what's been happening in the world. There's a bit of the gameplay shown. Watch the video below:
In the game, the phrase "Hell on Earth" becomes reality as players fight against different kinds of unholy monsters that have spawned from the pits of the underworld. The supernatural threat is everywhere so it's up to players to build, grow, and maintain a safe place where humanity can hope to survive in a world that's become a treacherous wasteland. If the battle becomes to difficult, they can recruit and form a team with a ragtag band of heroes to go against the waves of zombie hordes, ghouls, and raiders, to name a few.
While it is clear that the game has survival simulation elements combined with RPG, it also features turn-based team tactics along with intuitive base-building mechanics. This results in a gameplay experience where attentiveness is key and progressive skill is important. Since each run is unique, it's important to prepare for the challenges and even endless surprises.
The procedurally generated landscape along with the unpredictability of enemy encounters make sure that each of the playthrough features a fresh opportunity for players to hone their survival skills and pushing them to the top of their game.
Here are some of the key features of the game:
- Get to see beautifully animated hand-drawn art which brings that quirky vision of post-apocalyptic world to life.
- Choose from eight character classes, each one having unique default and special abilities.
- Fight against different enemies from the typical zombie to the deadly raiders and even explosive monstrosities. Prepare to engage in two brutal boss fights.
- Take part in more than 50 randomly occurring events that present risk-reward scenarios.
- Collect over 70 items and runes to turn the tide of battle.
- Roguelite progression means no two runs are the same.
- Listen to the original orchestral soundtrack by Jelle Dittmar.
