There's good news for New World players on the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S. They've all been invited to the mysterious island of Aeternum and join a Confidential Console Closed Beta. It's running from July 11 to July 17. This invite-only cross-play test is limited to players in the America and Europe region.
This Confidential Console Closed Beta allows those qualified to customize a character and experiment with unique weapons. They also get to explore the new island before the official release. New World: Aeternum is launching on October 15. Now if you're one of those interested, you'll need to sign up here. Those lucky enough to be selected are going to be notified through email in the days leading up to the start of the test.
Amazon Games revealed in a statement that to offer the best possible experience at launch, they're going to review large-scale simultaneous new player onboarding as well as participant feedback especially for first-time users.
PC Players
For those wondering about the PC version, don’t worry since there’s going to be a testing opportunity for them closer to the launch. The reason why the test is being limited to console platforms for now is because the studio needs detailed performance data that’s specific to the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 platforms.
A New Title
In New World: Aeternum, players are taken to the cursed island of Aeternum. It's set during the twilight of the Age of Exploration where players go on a journey to look for search of rumored riches but instead encounter the mysterious wrath of the island. For those wondering what this is all about, it's basically a "replacement" of the original title. It's an enhanced version of the action RPG that offers a a fresh and compelling experience not just for PC players but also those on console.
It comes with the New World base game along with the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion. This upcoming title also has all the updated content like Brimstone Sands. Players can look forward to a fully revamped storytelling approach that comes with enhanced dialogue. There's also improved in-game cinematics and pre-rendered scenes. Other content to keep an eye out for are the large-scale PvP zone, a challenging 10-player raid, and new end-game solo trials, to name a few.
You can get New World for the PC via Steam.
