Capcom announced that a limited-time open beta test has been set for Monster Hunter Wilds. This is to let fans try the game before the full release on February 28, 2025.
There's going to be two schedules for the open beta. The first is from October 28 to October 39 and this is for the PlayStation Plus Exclusive Early Access Play. Then there's October 31 to November 3 for those on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the PC via Steam.
The studio revealed that the reason for the test was to give players the chance to experience the game, even if only for a limited portion. It's also being done as a way to "verify various technical aspects" like network load and overall operation before the game is released.
Character Creation
There are three features that players can try in the open beta and one of these is character creation. While this may be the open beta, the studio shared that the character creation is going to have the full features available. What this means is players can remake their character as many times as they want during the open beta. Any character created can then be carried over to the full version.
Story Trial
Players can check out the Story Trial where they get to experience the opening cutscene and play through the Chatacabra hunt with basic tutorials. It may not be long but they'll get a feel for the weapon mechanics and even experience the seamless transitions from cutscenes into gameplay.
Doshaguma Hunt
The third is the Doshaguma Hunt where the goal is to defeat the alpha of the Doshaguma pack. Players get to explore the vast locale on their Seikret and switch between two different weapon types on the fly as they experience the latest in hunting action.
