Developer Bag of Holding announced that an extensive playtest for its debut title Wyld Land is now live. It's available on Steam as well as web browsers.
Wyld Land is a free-to-play and fast-paced bullet hell roguelite MMO that’s inspired by classic topdown shooters that include Realm of the Mad God and Nuclear Throne. In the game, players take on the role of a runner as they explore a dangerous world that’s been decimated by the Ethos. This is an ancient civilization whose destructive technology continues to plague the lands. They get to navigate and ever-changing dungeons and charge through relentless bullet hell combat.
Each run offers players the chance to obtain rare skills and equipment. Every fight is a learning opportunity in a symphony of chaos. Making things even more exciting is the release of seasonal content updates. These include the meta-shaking weapons and gear and all the way to the challenging new bosses. All of these ensure that players keep coming back for another run.
Enjoy the Playtest
For the Wyld Land playtest, players can look forward to more than 30 hours of content. These include 14 dungeons that players can explore along with unique bosses to encounter. They get to build their runner using collectable loot, equipment, and skills. Then once they’ve found their preferred style, they can then dive into the challenging Corrupted Dungeons, which offer progressively difficult encounters and even more potent rewards.
Players have the option to dive into the depths alone or team up with thousands of players around the world and try to prevail through monstrous bosses and lightning-fast gameplay together. Making things even more fun is that the game’s servers have been purpose-built for twitch gameplay and designed to accommodate last-second dodges right down to the pixel.
In a statement, Bag of Holding founder Riley Dutton shared that the studio was made to come up with games that they want to see in the world. He added that they have no secret into what inspired them which are titles that include the likes of, among others, Realm of the Mad God, Enter the Gungeon, and Nuclear Throne. He said that they’re excited for everyone to get their first taste of what the game offers.
