Get ready for a new Middle-earth experience when Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game comes out in the second half of this year. What makes this one different from other games based on The Lord of the Rings is that this one offers a cozy Hobbit life sim experience.
In the game, players get the chance to live as a Hobbit in the town of Bywater. Get ready to enjoy the breathtaking pastures, visit the different local shops, and even have that second breakfast. Bring the community together and even achieve official village status.
The game lets you create and personalize your very own Hobbit through a wide range of customizations. This allows you to enjoy the world introduced by J.R.R. Tolkien in your own way. As you settle in your new Hobbit home, you can decorate it by choosing from the different home décor and furniture available. Once you're done with that, you can head on over outdoors and do some gardening, foraging, fishing, and of course, cooking. Actually, there are a lot of things to do in the Shire. Once you're done doing what it is you want to do, whether inside your home or outside, don't forget to build relationships with the different Bywater locals. You can do it by helping them building a garden or sharing one of the many Hobbit meals, to name a few.
The game is being developed by Wētā Workshop Game Studio, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Wētā Workshop. For those not familiar, Wētā Workshop had worked on The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. Talking about this upcoming title, head of Product Kelly Tyson shared in a statement that they're really excited to give players the chance to live a Hobbit life in the Shire. He added that the game offers a new way for players to experience Middle-earth.
Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game is launching for the PC via Steam. It's also going to be available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch. Learn more about the game here.
