Prime Video has released the trailer for the New World: Aeternum episode that's part of the upcoming Secret Level anthology series. This episode focuses on a self-centered hero who has been shipwrecked and now finds himself on the supernatural island of Aeternum. There he tries to do what he can to struggle with the concept of eternal life.
The episode offers a mix of action and humor and puts in a lot of heart. It's set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video this December 10. Watch the new trailer here.
The Secret Level
It was back in this year’s gamescom where Secret Level was first announced. This is an adult animation anthology series which features 15 original short stories set within the worlds of some of the most beloved video games. One of these is on New World: Aeternum.
In a statement released back in October, Blur Studio co-founder Tim Miller revealed that one of the goals for the series was to feature games coming from a wide range of genres as possible. He added that the episode focused on New World: Aeternum is the only one that's based on an online RPG. Because of this, he went on to say that the team was really excited to have some fun when it comes to the online RPG experience.
Eternal Life
Each game that's part of the Secret Level series brings with it something unique. For New World: Aeternum, it's the concept of eternal life which is made possible through respawn. According to New World: Aeternum Narrative Director Rob Chestney, they were surprised by the approach the Blur made for the game's episode. He shared that the fantastic story Blur came up with sees the world from a different perspective. He said that this isn't your usual hero's journey but instead it's "an emotional journey and a story about friendship."
New World: Aeternum is an immersive MMORPG that takes gaming to a new level. It takes place on the supernatural island of Aeternum, and players take on the role of an explorer stranded on said island. Here they have to navigate a world that’s teeming with danger and excitement and do what they can to fight, forage and forge through the wilderness and ruins strewn across the island’s landscape.
