Public Playtest for Songs of Rats Now Live

Tesseract Games announced that the public playtest for Songs of Rats is now live. It's going to run until January 19 and then be taken down. This is to allow the studio to prepare the playable demo and have it ready by the next Steam Festival.

While the playtest does give you access to the game, there's going to be some limitations. For example, you'll get to experience the gameplay mechanics and modes that are available in the full game. However, the length of the story and the sandbox mode are limited. In addition, there won't be a save system available.

If that's okay with you then head on over to the game's official Steam page and request access for the playtest. Once that's done, you should be able to start downloading the game.

To make the most out of your playtest experience, here are some tips:

At the beginning, try to avoid fights and instead focus on buffing the character with better gear.

During confrontations, heal your character by using First Aid packs or eating food.

If the enemy is clearly stronger than you then be smart and run away.
