Last week an update was released for Remnant II which introduced fixes to the armor and damage reduction. There's also the usual quality-of-life changes and bug fixes.
Developer Gunfire Games revealed that there was a large discrepancy when it comes to different armors especially when considering the armor granted versus weight. It seemed that some armors would give incredible armor per weight point while others fell behind a lot.
To solve this issue, the studio came up with a curve where light armor had the most efficient ratio versus heaviest being least efficient, through the latter still granted more compared to light armor. There were few variances but ultimately lighter armor sets and individual pieces have a higher armor to weight ratio compared heavier armor.
With this change, some of the armor weight values were moved to ensure that there was a proper ratio across the board.
Stamina Cost
The changes also meant fixes for the Stamina Cost penalty when it came to each armor weight class. This is to have a better tradeoff between Damage Reduction, Weight, and Stamina Costs. Basically, what it says is that the heaviest armor is going to have a stronger Stamina Cost for stamina-based actions. Light Armor and Medium Armor meanwhile maintain their +2 and +1 iFrame buffs.
Adjustments were also made to the utility and survivability items. This was done so that players who want armor which gives less survivability than Leto’s 1 and 2 can now have more survivability options through trinkets. It should also allow for more reasons to use many of the other utility items.
