Restrictions Added to High-Roller Dungeons in Dark and Darker

Studio IRONMACE introduced a new update which brings with it improvements to Dark and Darker like optimizing the game performance. In particular, some restrictions have been added to the High-Roller dungeons as a way of addressing the current High-Roller meta of solo "rat/crow" play. The studio shared that they're currently experimenting with minimum gear score for these High-Roller dungeons.

The studio also revealed in a post that that they added a restriction to the High-Roller dungeons that needed the size of the party entering it to match the selected party queue size. The studio hopes that by adding these restrictions the ante has been removed for these dungeons. The settings are going to be adjusted based on the data and feedback received.

Unforgiving Hardcore Fantasy

Dark and Darker is a first-person fantasy dungeon adventure that features a hardcore and unforgiving environment and combines it with classically-inspired fantasy lore and immersive gameplay mechanics. It follows the story of an ancient citadel which holds unimaginable fortunes not just for the brave but also the reckless. Players actually face a dual challenge. They have to face hideous monsters and find hidden relics while at the same time find escape routes before a mysterious ever-growing darkness engulfs them.

Those who get the full game can access the High-Roller mode where they face higher stakes and even deadlier dungeons. In the full game, players can also trade with other players on the marketplace. They can also create multiple characters and get access to the Shared Stash.
