Element Games announced that its Roguelite ARPG Reality Break is now available on Steam. As part of the launch offer, the game is being offered at a 10% discount for a limited period.

Now before we take a look into what the game offers, let's take a quick peek at the developer Element Games, which is an independent game studio that's founded by industry veteran Courtney Liessen. Courtney has been involved in different titles that include the likes of Halo Wars, Age of Empires, Orcs Must Die, and Stranger Things 3: The Game. She's also the solo developer behind Reality Break.

In the game, players take on the role of a mercenary who has, for some reason, been given the ability to alter reality. They suddenly find themselves being thrown into a chaotic maelstrom where other sinister and malevolent forces do what they can to stop them at every turn in an evolving storyline. Anyway, this ability is made possible through what's known as the Rewrite mechanic where players can change the fundamental nature of the gameplay for unparalleled build customization.

The Rewrite Mechanic

Indeed, almost everything in the game can be modified through the Rewrite mechanic. Players can upgrade and change the attributes of their equipment, unlock mythical abilities, and change the course of the future. There's no question that the possibilities are endless.

To get an idea on how this ability works, let's say there's a powerful item but the problem is that it's too big to be equipped for the ship. Players can use the Rewrite mechanic and turn that item into something that can fit. Another example would be getting a rare item that would be better being an epic item. Then simply upgrade it to become an epic item. It's not limited to items. Let's say more time is needed for a mission, then use the ability to double the time left. While this ability may seem OP, it's important to note that it doesn't come for free.

Resetting the timeline results in a ripple effect across many elements of the game. Each time players reset, they get what's known as Reality Points. These can then be allocated to talents that majorly alter reality itself and apply those changes to both current and future pilots via a metagame talent system.
