Starfield is now out and invites players to the first new universe from Bethesda Game Studios in 25 years. Aside from a successful launch, the studio is likely ecstatic about the game breaching more than 1 million concurrent players within 24 hours of launch. This was revealed by Phil Spencer, who is head of Xbox, through a post on X (formerly Twitter).

While that is indeed an interesting milestone, it's also worth noting that data from Steam show that game had a little of 230,000 players on September 1. While the game was released September 6, those who bought the Premium Edition or Constellation Edition had early access starting September 1. Now for those wondering why Spencer is a good source, it's important to remember that back in 2021 Microsoft had acquired Bethesda for $7.5 billion.

Journey to the Stars

Starfield is set in 2330 where humanity has managed to travel beyond the solar system. They've managed to settle on new planets and live as a spacefaring people. Players join a group known as the Constellation. These are space explorers looking for rare artifacts across the galaxy.

There are more than 1000 planets to explore that have different environments like bustling cities, wild landscapes, and even dangerous bases. Players get to meet and even recruit a rather memorable cast of characters. There are also different factions to choose from and join and various quests waiting to be accepted. In Starfield, there's always a new story or experience that's simply waiting to be discovered.

Your Own Story

While there are a lot of stories in the game, the most important is the one that tells the character. Players begin their journey by customizing their appearance and then choosing their Backgrounds and Traits. There's a lot of options available and it's up to the players to decide who they are going to be and what they will become.

That’s not all since it’s also possible to personalize the look the ship. Players can even modify critical systems like shields and weapons. It’s also important to assign crew members and get those unique bonuses.
