We're finally getting a release window for the modern JRPG-inspired game SacriFire. Developer Pixelated announced that the game is launching for the PC in the first quarter of 2026. Console versions are planned to come out later within the year.
In addition to the announcement, the studio also released a new trailer for the game. It's set to an original track by the legendary Motoi Sakuraba. The new trailer gives us a captivating look into the world of the game. It's a realm where a dark and creeping heresy has threatened to overwhelm Antioch. This has left the Bishops as the final hope to keep the light alive. Watch the trailer here.
SacriFire follows the story of Ezekiel Ridan. He’s a young priest that’s been struggling to maintain his faith while there’s an ongoing battle between gods and demons. He’s currently a soldier training for the elite sect of the Church of Sheol. As part of his job, Ezekiel has been tasked with protecting the underground city of Antioch from the demons. However, he later learns that this ongoing conflict is bigger than he could have imagined.
Key features of SacriFire include:
- Dynamic Battles: The combat engine merges real-time and turn-based styles to allow for a fluid experience that’s not only challenging but also satisfying.
- High-quality Presentation: The use of pixel art and 3D graphics results in retro-style graphics being combined with innovative digital effects wizardry.
- Moral Complexity: The original story aims to both respect and subvert the standard RPG tropes which means while players are sure to feel right at home with the cast of lovable characters, they’ll never know what to expect next.
- A Tale of Two Worlds: Travel between the sprawling subterranean city of Antioch and the idyllic spirit paradise of Erebus in a well-developed game universe which includes elements of both fantasy and science-fiction.
- Elaborate Gameplay Systems: Adopt diverse combat disciplines, craft weapons, solve puzzles and tackle imaginative dungeons.
- Original Music: A brand new soundtrack composed by G4F and the legendary Motoi Sakuraba.
