Support for Marvel’s Avengers Ending on September 30

Developer and publisher Crystal Dynamics reminded players that support for Marvel's Avengers: The Definitive Edition is proceeding as planned on September 30. That means in addition to having no more customer support, there won't be any new content added. It also means that the game can no longer be purchased on Steam. The studio however, did reassure those who own the game that it's going to remain playable.

The end of official support for the game was first announced back in January of this year. The last new content added was in Update 2.7 while the final balance updates were released with Update 2.8 in March. With regards to the decision to end support for the game, the studio didn't really give a lengthy explanation except that it was the "right time to make this change" and that it was made in conjunction with the partners.

For those looking more something more specific, here's what is and what is not going to change:

• All currently available content continues to be available as-is, both solo and multiplayer play, after September 30.

• For those who own the game, it's going to remain in their game library for download and reinstallation even after September 30.

• Limited-Time Events like the Red Room Takeover is set to continue to run after September. These events are going to run in a two-week rotation. Reoccurring mission chains, events, and rewards continue to refresh on the cadences they always have.

• Customer support is no longer be available after September 30.

• All Operations and the War for Wakanda Expansion continue to be playable as they are now.

Released in September 2020, Marvel's Avengers: The Definitive Edition is a third-person and action-adventure game which features an original and cinematic story and combined with single-player and co-operative gameplay. The game has players assemble into a team of up to four players online as they try to master extraordinary abilities and customize an expansive roster of Heroes to defend the Earth from escalating threats.

For those of you still interested in playing the game, Marvel’s Avengers: The Definitive Edition is still available on Steam and currently being offered at 90% discount until September 30.
