The Battle Begins as Dynasty Warriors: Origins Now on PC and Consoles

Dynasty Warriors: Origins is finally out and now available for the PC via Steam. It’s also released for consoles PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S.

While the game is set during the time of the Three Kingdoms, it does offer a new and deeper interpretation of the traditional storyline. This time it’s told through the eyes of a nameless hero. Players take on this role as they fight to survive while at the same time make bold choices to restore peace and shape history.

The game features what can be described as an overwhelming sense of realism on every battlefield. This is true especially with the largest number of soldiers in the history of the series. Enemy soldiers that attack in cooperation are extremely formidable and players not only have to fight using their own skill but have to charge forward with allies to clear the way.

A New Experience

Players are thrown into the battlefield alongside the heroes of the Three Kingdoms. They’ll have to wipe out those swarms of enemies with the use of swords, fists, and different other weapons. As they go on their journey, they’ll also have to do other actions like suppressing rebellions or helping government forces. Throughout their quest, players get to encounter a wide range of characters that are part of the Dynasty Warriors franchise. Depending on the bond forged, these characters can become the travelling companions of the players or their enemies.

Prepare to Fight

To survive in the game’s 1 vs. 1,000 combat, players need to master and alternate between swift and powerful attacks which can break an opponent’s guard. Repeated attacks increase the “Bravery”, and allow players to use powerful and unique attacks called “Arts”. These “Arts” will be unique to each weapon, so it’s important for players to master the various arsenal at their disposal. With this, they can also obtain “Rank” and thus improve their skills.

Time for Defense

It’s not enough for players to master the different activities. To ensure the victory, they have to strengthen their defense. Blocking the attacks of the enemy at the right moment for example can result in what’s known as “Parry” and create a breach in the defense of the opponent. There are also attacks which can’t be blocked and this means they’ll have to dodge before counterattacking.
