The Breach update for No Rest for the Wicked is now live. There's a lot of new content for everyone to enjoy.
One of these is the introduction of the Hardcore Mode, considered as the ultimate challenge for those who want to test their skills. The thing is that only Hardcore characters can enter Hardcore realms. As such, when a Hardcore character dies, it is changed to a regular character that can be played on non-hardcore realms.
New Content
There's a lot of new content like the three new quests which are Weeping Sisters, Roots That Bind, and Faith and Flame. Players can also look forward to seeing 17 new story scenes divided into three cinematics, five hybrid cutscenes, and nine game view cutscenes.
New areas have also been opened. There are two new Danger Zones which are Lowland Meadows and Marin Woods. There's also a new Unlockable Safe Zone with Marin Village and new Temporary Safe Zone with The Hunter’s Vale.
New Dark Caves are also available like Coast Cellar Cave at The Shallows, Meadows Gate Cave in The Lowland Meadows, and Wolf Den in Nameless Pass.
QoL Improvements
Players should also be happy to know that there are now what's known as In-Line Hints. This is an optional toggle though and not enabled by default.
Other improvements include:
- Updated item previews.
- Existing cinematic polish/updates.
- Nameless Pass cranes now have proper physics.
- Added the ability for NPCs to look at the player if they were previously unable to.
- New skybox art.
- The environment no longer has extreme depth of field if the player is a distance away.
- Many buff icons have been improved and are now indicative of their effects.
