The Crusader Kings III - Many Roads to Power Mini-Comic is Now Available

It was back in August when Paradox Interactive first announced that it partnered with Dead Good Comics for an official comic book for Crusader Kings III. The mini-comic titled "Crusader Kings III - Many Roads to Power" is finally here. It serves as the official comic book tie-in prequel to the game's upcoming expansion which is Roads to Power.

The comic tells the story of Basil I, also known as "the Macedonian." Set to be a playable character in the expansion, he served as Emperor of the Byzantine Empire between 867 and 886 AD. The story is all thanks to Stu Taylor (Octobriana and the Underground, Warhammer Monthly) with artwork being done by Simone Ragazzoni (Dune: House Corrino, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners) and Ellie Wright (Disney Villains: Cruella de Vil, Survival Street). The cover of the comic book meanwhile was from Vincenzo Riccardi (Something is Killing the Children, Creature from the Black Lagoon Lives!).

The Road to Power

The Road to Power expansion for the game is coming out on September 24. It's going to offer players new ways to unlock power and prestige. One of the changes is the Administrative Government. It's a new style of empire management where players get to experience medieval rules that's outside of the feudal system. Meanwhile, there's also Family Estate where players get to earn a seat of power even if they don't own any land.

New as well is the Influence System where players can build up the influence of their character within an administrative empire. That means they get the chance to climb through the ranks of the bureaucracy.

Crusader Kings III invites players to experience the drama and intrigue of the Middle Ages. In a saga that defies time, players need to strategically master a lot of skills that include diplomacy, warfare, and cunning politics, all to secure their dynasty’s place in history.
