Independent game studio Chimera Entertainment announced that the first faction DLC for Songs of Silence is releasing February 20. The Lighteaters DLC is available for $7.99 and introduces a new force into the battlefield, which should further deepen the strategic skirmishes in the game.
The Lighteaters are beings that give and take life as they please. They make this happen through different healing and self-damaging mechanics as they toy with the Hymn present in every living being. Their Nexus capital is the cornerstone of their might and houses most of their recruitment options. With the Nexus Recall strategy card, Lighteaters can instantly teleport back to it to cash in loot, recruit new units, or escape from dangerous situations. They can also conjure an extension of their Nexus through the Nexus Gateway building upgrade, to recruit and push on in their hunt for Hymn.
While the expansion does not add new campaign missions, it does offer different strategic options. There are two new Hero Archetypes with the first one being the Ancient Lighteaters. These beings have been punished for defying the Celestial Gods and now exist in a state between life and death. Their insatiable craving for the Hymn forbids them to fade away. The second are the Gluttons. These ever hungry Lighteaters command a titanic aura and assemble hordes of Gestalts under their banner.
