The Open Beta 3 Update for SMITE 2 is Now Live

Titan Forge Games announced that the Open Beta update for SMITE 2 has been released. The highlight is the Wandering Market which is an ever-changing bazaar that serves as the gateway to treasures.

What players need to do is earn XP through daily gameplay and quests. This should allow them to progress on the reward track and collect Coins as they go. These Coins can be used to unlock rewards from a trove of Collections. There's going to be a new themed Collection arriving every eight weeks.

Anyway, each Collection features four pages and each one has a unique Skin per page. Free players can only access the first page with Premium players being able to unlock additional pages by spending Coins progressively. It's important to know that contents vary in each Collection. The thing is, players can preview all rewards, free and premium, in each Collection before spending Coins or upgrading to Premium.

Gameplay Changes

The new update also introduces changes like with the Titans. They now have similar targeting rules as Towers & Phoenixes and prioritize targeting Minions over Gods. Titans also maintain their target until that target dies, leaves its range, or becomes Untargetable. The only difference is that if a God within its range damages a friendly God, and the Titan is not currently targeting a God, it switches target to the hostile enemy God. Other changes include the reduced overall size of their AoE cleave vs Minions.

Speaking of Towers & Phoenixes, enemy targets are now considered in targeting range only when the center of the target character has crossed into the Tower's radius. This behavior now matches that in SMITE 1 and essentially makes Towers' aggro range the same for all characters, regardless of their size. Before the update, it was checking if the edge of the character had crossed into range and this resulted in smaller characters like Cupid being able to stand closer to Tower without being targeted.
