Square Enix announced that Visions of Mana is now available worldwide. This is the first mainline installment in the Mana series in at least 15 years. The game is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X/S. It’s also released for the PC via the Microsoft Store and Steam.
The game brings players back to the action-RPG roots of the series. It offers a new adventure focusing on the protagonist Val, who is a newly appointed soul guard. On his journey to the Tree of Mana in order to bring back the mana flow, he’ll be accompanied by the Hinna, his childhood friend and the Alm of Fire.
The series actually had its official debut way back in 1991. It was a spin-off of the Final Fantasy series and was then titled Final Fantasy Adventure. Since then, Mana titles have been able to immerse players in its bright vibrant worlds and breathtaking environments. Of course, there’s also the heartwarming characters and high-fantasy storylines.
According to the studio, Mana Series Producer Masaru Oyamada and his team made sure to incorporate everything they’ve learned from the last 17 Mana games. This is to make sure that the new title is truly a faithful addition to the series that fans have known and loved. At the same time, it also offers both fans and newcomers a fresh experience by having a new story, new characters and even new gameplay mechanics.
Now for those who aren’t yet sure if the game is for them, the good news is that a free demo of Visions of Mana is available on all platforms. But wait, there’s more! Players who have save date from the demo and then decide to buy the game get some extra goodies. These include three weapons for Val which are the Gladius, Falx and Horn Lance.
In a statement, Oyamada shared that it’s truly exciting to introduce players to a new mainly entry in the franchise. He added that he and his team hopes fans are also excited as they are in returning to the world of Mana.
